Overview
The 2021 Virtual Chapter Leadership Conference (CLC) content will be by chapter leaders, for chapter leaders. Shine the spotlight on your chapter’s success stories, effective best practices and lessons learned.
Do you have a tried-and-true best practice for managing budgets, volunteers, or events? Has the pandemic helped you discover a great way to recruit members, engage audiences, or generate revenue? Regardless of your position, whether president-elect, membership or student representative, we want to hear from you and feature your presentations as part of this year's Virtual CLC program.
Deadlines & Schedule
- Proposal Submission Deadline: June 1, 2021
- Submission Decisions Made: June 17, 2021
- Virtual Chapter Leadership Conference: August 9 - 13, 2021
Content Ideas/Thought-Starters
Wondering what to submit? Here are some thought-starters:
- Engagement: How are you connecting with different audiences, such as students or Industry Partners?
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): What does this mean for your Chapter? How are you creating inclusive communities?
- Events and Programs: Chapter events and programs are key to building engagement and revenue. What successful strategies have you employed to keep attendance levels high and prevent attrition? This could include experience with awards, CEUs and virtual programs, to name but a few.
- Leadership: Lessons learned in coming together as an effective, high-performing board team to strategize and execute your plans with minimal conflict.
- Chapter structure and operations: How you effectively manage and administer Chapter operations to get the work done most efficiently, including topics such as committees, data, and contract management.
- Communications: Lessons around Chapter communications, including campaigns and social media strategy.
- Succession planning: How are you building the leadership pipeline, recruiting and retaining up-and-coming Chapter leaders?
- Community Partnerships: How is your Chapter engaging with the greater community?
Submission Criteria
Chapter leaders want to learn from their peers with real life best practices from recent experience. Share your on-the-ground results from the programs and initiatives your Chapter has implemented (or learned from). Empower your peer group of Chapter leaders with how-to solutions. We want to know:
- Why did you do it? Tell us about the problem you set out to solve or opportunity you saw.
- Who was it for? Identify the people who benefited from the solution.
- How did you do it? Share the details on the required resources and who was involved in the process.
- What was the outcome? Provide details on your success or lessons learned to help others replicate the solution (or avoid a pitfall).
Requirement
All content proposals must be approved by your Chapter’s leadership. If submission is approved for presentation at the Virtual CLC, your Chapter board will be informed for sign off.
Review Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Utility: Ability for other Chapters to replicate.
- Applicability: Content can be applied across a diverse audience of Chapters and leaders.
- Relevancy: Activity must be no more than three years old, covering FY2019-FY2021.
- Creativity: Originality of your solution.
- Impact: Able to show results that explain why the activity was successful, or why it wasn’t successful.
